Kulendra Shahi, 21, Journalist at Siddha Darshan Daily in Surkhet, was allegedly beaten on the evening of March 10 in front of the Inland Revenue Department, Birendranagar Municipality-8. Police arrested 23-year-old Jagdish Rawat from Chedagad Municipality-1, Jajarkot, and 26-year-old Santosh Budha from the same place on March 10 in connection with the incident.
DSP Birendra Bir Biswakarma of the District Police Office informed that another accused Bikash Khatri,28 from Birendranagar Municipality-11 is absconding, and the investigation is going on.
The victim stated that a group of three individuals suddenly attacked while he was walking on the road. The attack caused injuries to his hand and head. He received medical treatment on March 10 at the Trauma Center in Karnali Province, Birendranagar Municipality-10.
