The District Court sentenced a 43-year-old man to eight months imprisonment for sexually abusing his eight year old grandniece. The bench of District Court Judge Dalluram Chaudhary on 24 December sentenced the accused to eight months in prison along with a fine of Rs 25,000, compensation of Rs 10,000, and Rs 400 into the Victim Relief Fund, as informed by District Court Registrar Kapil Paudyal.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint at the Area Police Office, Dhodhari, on April 3, 2024 alleging that the accused had sexually abused the victim on September 7, 2023. The police arrested the accused on the same day. The health examination was done at Bardiya Hospital, Gulariya, on April 3.
