The District Court sentenced a 55-year-old man to 18-years-imprisonment on 13 December for the crime of raping his 12-year-old niece. Registrar Kapil Poudel of the District Court informed that the bench of Judge Dalluram Choudhary on 13 December found the accused guilty and sentenced him to 18 years imprisonment, along with a compensation of Rs 50,000 and a fine of Rs 700,000 to the victim.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint at the Area Police Office, Mainapokhari on 29 September, 2023 alleging that the girl was raped on September 26. Police arrested the accused on 29 September. The health examination of the victim was done on 28 September at the Bardiya Hospital, Gulariya.
