Police arrested Man Samjer Gurung, 43 of Barpak Sulikot Rural Municipality-1 on December 9, for the charge of killing 18-year-old Suchina Ghale in the same place. SP Basudev Pathak of the District Police Office, Gorkha, reported that the accused killed a girl who had gone to cut grass in Maikhark forest, Barpak, on November 30, 2024, after she resisted his attempt to rape her. Additionally, the accused killed the girl and buried the body in a pit. The body of Ghale was discovered buried in a pit on December 3, 2024.
The police registered a case against the accused under the charge of killing on December 9, 2024, and extended the custody period through the District Court. The post-mortem of the body was done at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Kathmandu, on December 4, 2024.
