Police rescued a four-year-old girl who was held captive by her father in Biratnagar Metropolitan City-9, Bhanu Tole.
DSP Ved Prakash Joshi of the District Police Office stated that on October 25, police rescued the girl who had been held captive by her 32-year-old father, Sunil Sahani, in Bhanu Tole, Biratnagar Metropolitan City-9, since October 22, 2024. DSP Joshi stated that the girl was rescued after the representatives and locals reported that Sahani had held the girl captive in a room for three days without food.
DSP Joshi stated that when police reached the scene, Sunil threatened to kill his daughter with a knife in hand if anyone entered the room. However, the police managed to rescue the girl. DSP Joshi stated that the girl’s mother is working abroad, and Sunil may have held his daughter captive as an act of revenge stemming from a domestic dispute.
The police placed the girl with her grandmother after the rescue and have started an investigation into the incident.
