The District Court has sentenced 63-year-old man of Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-5 to 25 years imprisonment for the crime of raping his seven-year-old niece. The bench of District Court Judge Narayan Prasad Dahal ordered the accused to pay a fine of Rs 500,000 and compensation of Rs 150,000, in addition to the 25-year imprisonment, as reported by Registrar Sitaram Khadka.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint against the accused on June 20, 2024 at the district police office charging the accused of raping the victim girl on June 19, 2024. Based on the same complaint, police arrested the accused on June 20 and registered a case of rape in the district court on July 9, 2024.
