Police arrested 58-year-old Najir Ahamad of Lumbini Cultural Municipality-8, Barouliya on 16 October , 2024 for the crime of raping a 17-year-old girl. The aggrieved party filed a complaint against the accused at the Area Police on October 16, alleging that the accused had raped the victim on October 15 on the pretext of performing as a witch doctor.
The health examination of the victim was done on 16 October at the Bhim Hospital, Bhairahawa.
