Police arrested a 14-year-old boy from Barbardiya Municipality-6 and a seven-year-old boy from the same place on October 17, 2024, for the crime of sexually abusing a seven-year-old boy. The aggrieved party filed a complaint at the district police office on August 21, 2021, alleging that the victim was sexually abused on July 4, 2021.
Police initially arrested the juveniles on 21 August 2021 and registered a case against them in the District Court through the District Attorney’s Office on the charge of child sexual abuse on 3 September 2021. After the bench of District Court Judge Lokjung Shah sentenced the boys to a fine of Rs 3,12,000 on 23 May 2022, they absconded. The juveniles were arrested from Barbardiya Municipality–6, on 17 October 2024 as per DSP Rishiram Ghartimagar of the District Police Office. He further informed that the juveniles have been presented in the court.
The health examination of the victim was done on August 21, 2021, at Bardiya District Hospital.
