Due to continuous rainfall, the building of Kailash Primary School in Kharpunath Rural Municipality-1, Pyus has collapsed, affecting teaching and learning. The principal of the school, Lal Bahadur Shahi, reported that the building collapsed after the heavy rains on September 26 and 27, resulting in difficulties for the students’ education
According to Principal Shahi, 28 students in grade 1 are facing difficulties in studying due to the incessant rain. He mentioned that the rain caused the building to collapse resulting in damage to physical materials, including benches, desks, and whiteboards for grade 1.
According to Principal Shahi, the damage amounts to approximately Rs 100,000 and has also impacted teaching and learning. He stated that he has informed the Education Development and Coordination Unit in Humla through the education branch of Kharpunath Rural Municipality about this issue.
The chief of the Education Development and Coordination Unit in Humla, Yogesh Ale Magar, informed that the physical resources of the school have been damaged and that teaching and learning have also been affected. He mentioned that this information has already been communicated to the Ministry of Education.
