Police have arrested 40-year-old Panchabahadur Bote on the charge of killing his 36-year-old wife, Purnamaya Bote, of Bhanu Municipality-1, Botegaon, by strangling her with a rope on October 7.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Chetnath Adhikari of the Bhansar Police Station reported that the accused called a neighbour to his house on the night of October 7, informing them that “my wife has died,” before fleeing the scene. The ASI noted that marks were found around the neck of the deceased, and a rope was found nearby. The accused, who fled after the incident, was arrested on the morning of October 8 from Palungtar Municipality-7 in Gorkha district, according to police officials.
The body was sent to Damauli Hospital on October 8 for a post-mortem.
