According to the police, 46-year-old Uja Bahadur Rai killed 40-year-old Phul Kumari Rai of Sandakpur Rural Municipality-1 Bhitte by hitting her with a khukuri (Sharp Nepali weapon). SP Prabhu Prasad Dhakal of the District Police Office said that Uja Bahadur killed his wife on September 23 during a domestic dispute and committed suicide by hanging himself. Based on the nature of the incident and the evidence observed at the scene, the incident occurred on the night of September 23, as per SP Dhakal. SP Dhakal added that during a domestic dispute, Uja Bahadur took his wife to a distance from their home in Sandakpur Rural Municipality-1, Bhitte, where he killed her before hanging himself.
The police have prepared to bring both two dead bodies to the district hospital on October 8 for post-mortem. According to SP Dhakal, out of the two sons of the Rai couple, one son is abroad, and the other is in Fikkal. The police have started an investigation into the incident.
