The District Court Sarlahi has sentenced 31-year-old Jayakaran Yadav, 34-year-old Jangilal Rai Yadav of Chakraghata Rural Municipality-1 and 28-year-old Ram Binod Raya of Malangwa Municipality-12 to three years imprisonment on September 22 for gang-raping a 23-year-old woman.
Registrar Sadan Adhikari of the District Court informed that the bench of Judge Bishnu Prasad Regmi sentenced the accused to three years of imprisonment each and ordered a compensation of Rs 40,000 to be paid to the victim. The police registered a case against the accused on August 10, 2022 at the Malangwa District Police Office, after the aggrieved party filed a complaint on 7 August. They alleged that the victim had been kidnapped and gang-raped by the accused on April 17, 2022. Registrar Adhikari informed that the accused are currently remanded in the Sindhuli District Jail.
The health examination of the victim was done on August 11 at Sarlahi District Hospital Malangwa.
