Four people were injured when the landslide swept away the temporary shelter of the earthquake victims. Temporary shelter was built for Dalsari Thapa and Bishnu Thapa of Dallena, Kushe Rural Municipality-8, and it was washed away on the night of 16 July .
35-year-old Dalsari Thapa, four-year-old daughter Hastika Thapa, 29-year-old Bishnu Thapa and 17-year-old Nirmaya Thapa of Kushe Rural Municipality-8 were injured in the landslide.
DSP Purushottam Pandey of the District Police Office informed that among the injured, the condition of Bishnu Thapa is critical. Ward Chairperson Dill Bahadur Singh informed that the police immediately reached the scene of the incident and rescued the injured.
After the landslide buried the house, the police and local residents carried the injured to safety. DSP Pandey reported that following the incident, the injured were treated at Jajarkot district hospital and subsequently transported to Nepalgunj through helicopter for further medical treatment .
Due to lack of road facilities and health facilities in the villages, people have to carry them on their backs to hospitals for treatment. The injured who were rescued at night did not get treatment in time because there was no access to transport.
Chief District Officer Umakanta Adhikari has urged citizens to be alert as they are at high risk of disaster after the earthquake. The chief district officer stated that police have been periodically deployed in the villages, advising residents not to stay in cracked houses but to seek shelter in safe locations.
