The police arrested husband Kumar Sharki, 31, on the charge of killing 26-year-old Sunita Nepali of Sulikot Rural Municipality-7 Baluwa on 13 July 2024..
DSP Ramesh Kumar Shrestha of District Police Office Gorkha informed that the victim was assaulted and killed by the accused and then attempted to conceal the crime by portraying it as a suicide.
The accused had informed the neighbours that on 10 July , the victim hanged herself inside the house by hanging herself with a shawl . Aggrieved party filed a complaint at the District Police Office on 13 July alleging that the accused had beaten her to death.
According to the police, a case was registered against the accused on July 15 under the charges related to killing and the district court has granted permission to keep the accused in custody for further investigation.
The post-mortem of the body was conducted on 10 July at Aaruchanaute Primary Health Center.
