Fire Destroys Study Materials, Disrupting Educational Activities of Children

The fire in Ramechhap Municipality-9, Ratatar, destroyed study materials of students, leading to difficulties in their education. The fire destroyed 13 households, sheds and other properties on March 14, 2024. As a result, children are currently unable to prepare for their examinations as all their study materials including school uniforms and books were destroyed by the flames.

The fire not only affected the belongings within the houses, including cash, valuables, clothing, grain, and utensils, but also the school study materials like uniforms, books of five children of Nawaprabhat Basic School in Ratatara.

The Ward Chairperson Chandra Bahadur Shrestha of Ramechhap-9, said that all the clothes and study materials were burnt except for the clothes worn by the locals and the school going children. He added that there are 13 students in the school and the final exams for this year are currently underway. However, the children are facing significant challenges as they lack school clothes, books to study, food to eat, and a place to live and sleep. The  whole Rural Municipality is facing the situation.
