22-year-old Chakra Dani from Adanchuli Rural Municipality-1, Kalakhe, Managing Director of Janata Media and member of Nepal Journalist Federation Humla alleged that the Personal Secretary of former Minister of Industry, Tourism, Forests and Environment of Karnali Province Government, Lalprasad Jaisi, 30, threatened him on January 24.
The victim alleged that Jaisi threatened to kill him for writing a news article titled “Connection of former minister’s personal secretary Jaisi in the cheating of Bir Bahadur Rokaya’s fraudulent 4 lakhs.”
Dani alleged that the accused immediately called him after the publication of the news and threatened him.
Rajan Rawat, Chairperson of the Journalist Federation Humla, stated that the Nepal Journalist Federation made a verbal complaint to the police on January 25. The complaint stated that if any problems arise for journalist Dani, the accused should be responsible for it.
