According to DSP Ranjan Kumar Dahal of the District Police Office, Chandeshwar passed away on December 25, just as he was on the verge of being released from prison.

Chandeshwar was admitted to Koshi Hospital at 4:30 a.m. on December 23 for medical treatment, presenting symptoms of stomach burn and respiratory distress. According to the prison administration, he died on the morning of December 25 during treatment.

The body was kept in the mortuary since December 25 after the victim’s family refused to accept the body.

During a telephone conversation with INSEC personnel, Yadav stated that the family of the victim has declined to recognize the body, making allegations of Killing. The postmortem will proceed after the discussion between the victim and the district administration office on December 27.

Chandeshwar Sahni was sentenced to 10 months and 22 days imprisonment by the Morang court on December 6, 2021 in the transaction case. Sahni, who absconded after the court’s decision, was jailed on January 31, 2023.

The inmates in Morang Jail are experiencing health issues during the cold month of December, primarily attributed to the lack of adequate sleeping arrangements, forcing them to sleep on the floor.

As a consequence of the cold weather, inmates in Morang Prison are experiencing health issues including body swelling, abdominal bloating, and nausea. Presently, the prison is accommodating 1,044 prisoners, exceeding its designed capacity of 300 individuals.
