Escaped Children From The Juvenile Correctional Home Re-arrested

Police re-arrested the two children who had escaped from the Children’s Reform Home in Birta, Birganj Metropolitan Municipality-4.

The juveniles who escaped from the Children’s Reform Home on September 29 due to the unorganized management were re arrested from two different locations.

DSP Kumar Bikram Thapa from the District Police Office informed that one of the escapees was re-arrested at the Nepal-India border in Sarlahi during the night of September 30, while the other was apprehended at the Nepal-India border in Siraha on the morning of October 1. He also said that the process of bringing both of them to the District Police Office is underway.

The children managed to escape by cutting through the barbed wire on the roof of the Children’s Reform Home at approximately 2 o’clock in the morning on September 29.

Among them one had been housed at the Children’s Correctional Home Birgunj for a homicide case, while the other was detained for a rape case.

As per the District Police Office, CCTV footage captured the juvenile detainees heading in the direction of the Shankaracharya Gate via the railway road in Birgunj. Subsequently, they were observed walking barefoot while engaged in conversation towards the Birgunj Customs House.
