On August 27, a complaint was lodged by a victim named Gita Jaisi, a 25-year-old resident of Bhagwatimai Rural Municipality-5, Khandachakra Municipality-1, against her husband, Dan Bahadur Shahi, aged 31. The complaint accuses him of threatening and harassing her.
The victim claims that her husband has been accusing her of practicing witchcraft and of being responsible for the death of his previous wife. These allegations were reportedly made through social media messenger. Additionally, he is alleged to have insulted her and issued threats to her life.
The District Police Office has registered a complaint concerning this incident. Inspector Subraj Bam stated that appropriate action against the accused will be taken following the legal process.
Gita Jaisi, the victim, has faced displacement to the district headquarters, Manma, after being evicted by her husband for a year. She has expressed difficulties in navigating the legal process and has sought assistance from organizations, such as INSEC, to aid her in this matter.
