Girl who Sustained Injuries Due to the School Wall Collapse Dies

During the process of treatment, the girl who sustained injuries from the collapse of a wall at River Queen’s Boarding School in Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality-7 passed away on August 4.

In Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality-7, a 9-year-old student named Merina Tharu, who was in the third grade, suffered injuries to her abdomen and face on August 1st due to the collapse of a toilet wall.

The injured passed away during treatment at Nepalgunj Medical College.

Lakshmi Dahit, the second mother of the deceased, shared that her daughter underwent abdominal surgery on August 4 due to the injuries. She explained that the restroom wall collapsed as it was structurally weak.

Radheshyam Tharu, the Ward Chairperson of Ward No. 7 in Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality, expressed deep sorrow over the incident that occurred in the school. The school has agreed to provide the bereaved family with 8,00,000 rupees and establish a fund of 2,00,000 rupees in the name of Merina.

Sujata Rai, the proprietor of the school, expressed the sorrow felt by the school community concerning the incident. Rai acknowledged her awareness of the importance of preventing such tragic incidents from occurring in the future.
