On July 22, a distressing incident occurred in Guthichour Rural Municipality-4, where seven houses were deliberately set on fire by unknown perpetrators. The affected residences belonged to individuals such as Prem Prasad Neupane and Khadand Pandey of Dhawalpur village, Kavidatta Neupane in Bauli village, Kavidatta Neupane in Khallabada, Lalchandra Sarki in Khallabada, and Bhim Prasad Jaisi in Bigare village. This information was relayed by Tikadatta Neupane, the ward president of the same ward.
Among the targeted properties, the house of Kavidatta Neupane from Dandabadada suffered the most extensive damage. The arson is believed to have occurred around half past two on the preceding night. Fortunately, prompt action upon discovering the fire prevented further damage to most of the houses. Inspector Dharmaraj Joshi of the District Police Office, Jumla, disclosed that the perpetrators locked the doors from outside and used petrol to set the house on fire.
Furthermore, in a separate incident, the house of Ratan Bahadur Budha in Chandannath Municipality-1 Dudakhoch was also subject to arson. Additionally, a parked tractor in Dhitagaon, Guthichour Rural Municipality-5, belonging to Raratenzing Construction Pvt. Ltd., with registration number 1244, was set ablaze.
Upon receiving information about the incidents, a police team was promptly dispatched from the district to the respective locations. The authorities, including the police from Jharjwala police station near Guthichour Rural Municipality, responded swiftly to the situations.
It is noteworthy that a previous incident involving arson occurred on July 11, where an unidentified individual set fire to a car parked in Valu, Guthichour Rural Municipality-4. The vehicle in question, bearing registration number 1 H 53 of TVS Company, incurred damages amounting to 650,000 rupees, as confirmed by the owner, Krishna Adhikari.
The local authorities have initiated thorough investigations into these acts of arson, seeking to identify and apprehend those responsible for these deplorable acts.
