The District Court Bajang sentenced Navraj Gautam, 32, of Baglung Municipality-7 to three years and six months imprisonment for the crime of rape of a 30-year-old woman.
District Court Registrar Surya Prasad Bhandari informed that Judge Diwakar Bhatt sentenced Gautam to a fine of Rs. 1, 00,000 and compensation of Rs.20, 000 to the victim.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint at the District Police Office Baglung on June 28, 2022, alleging Gautam of rape a physically challenged, 30-year-old woman on May 26, 2022.
According to the order of District Court Baglung, the accused was detained in District Jail Baglung pending trial, on July 28, 2022.
The health examination of the victim woman was done on June 28 at the district hospital.
