Support to Bharatpur Jail on INSEC’s Initiative

Bishwajyoti Firma in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-10 has provided paracetamol tablets to Bharatpur Jail, as an aftermath of news on drug shortage in Bharatpur Jail published in INSEC Online.

Bigyan Paudel, the owner of the firm, provided support to INSEC representative Dipendra Adhikari, on May 13, 2023, to supply 30 strips of paracetamol tablets to the jail. INSEC representative handed over the medicine to Jailor Kamal Acharya.

There are 754 prisoners in this prison. Among them, 200 prisoners need to take medicine daily. The prison has prisoners who have cancer, kidney disease, and other chronic and terminal illness. These prisoners need critical medical care, the 1.2 million annual budget given by the government this year is insufficient for them.

Jailer Kamal Acharya said that there is a constant shortage of medicine in the jail. He thanked the INSEC representative saying that paracetamol is a useful basic medicine.
