Registrar cum information officer Ishwor Acharya informed that the bench of Judge Narayan Paudel sentenced Aryan Pariyar, 30, from Ratnanagar Municipality-13, and Saroja Pariyar, 50, to three months of imprisonment and NPR. 30,000 fine in the offense of child marriage with a 13-year-old girl from Bharatpur Metropolitan City-13.
The victim’s Aunt Sobha Darju filed a complaint at the District Police Office, Chitwan on 16 May 2021, stating that the accused Aryan Pariyar got married to the victim on 7 May. The child was the denied food and evicted from the home by her husband Aryan Pariyar and mother-in-law Saroja Pariyar.
Aryan and Saroja were arrested on 16 May 2021.
