Three Arrested for Shouting Slogans Against Prime Minister Remanded to Judicial Custody.

Three youths arrested while shouting slogans against Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) on 21 March 2023 in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-10 Thapagaon were remanded to judicial custody, on 27 March.

The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, on 22 March, had detained Uddhav Basnet, 23, of Solukhumbu, Som Sharma, 30, of Baglung, and 18-year-old Biplav Khadka of Bajhang, under the charge of indecent behavior and authorized Police Circle New Baneshwar to investigate.

The chief district officer of Kathmandu, Ghanshyam Upadhyay, demanded bail of Rs. 5,000 accused on 26 March.

SP Sitaram Rizal, a spokesperson of District Police Complex Kathmandu,  said the accused were remanded to jail after they refused to pay the bail amount.

SP Rizal said all three accused are involved with the Nepal Independent Youth Campaign Group.
