Purshottam Baniya, 37, of Dhunibesi Municipality-6, has been arrested by the police on 26 February in the charge of killing Balram Upreti, 84, of Dhunbesi-7.
Upreti was beaten up and injured on the night of 22 February when the accused went to loot the oldage allowance saved by the victim.
Victim lost his life in the course of treatment at Nepal-Bharat Maitri Hospital, Kathmandu on 26 February 2023.
Accused had absconded after the incident.
DSP of the District Police Office Santulal Prasad Gyawali informed that the accused has been arrested from Dhunibesi Municipality-6, Chalise and brough before the court on 27 February. He has been sent to the judicial custody for further investigation.
