This coordination with these security forces will ensure adequate security within the district for a peaceful election.
Meanwhile, the team met with Jail Superintendent Sambhu Sah, District Jail Gaur, and discussed the right of inmates to vote in the election. Sah informed that 73 out of 387 inmates in the jail would be allowed to vote. The prison has recently released 5 of those 73 inmates.
He said that since the last election, the prisoners have been happy because of this arrangement. He suggested that the prisoners in this district should be provided with the direct right to vote. He said that individuals who had their names on the list last year had been included in the current voter’s list.
Jail Chief Sah requested the INSEC Madhes Provincial Coordinator to take the initiative for the fund of 95,000 rupees for the construction of the prison building, which has yet to be released by the government.
