Six Arrested for Being Involved in Anti-election Activities

The police arrested six cadres of the Communist Party of Nepal (revolutionary) led by Mohan Vaidya, from Dodhara Chandani Municipality-7 Babathan, on the charge of being involved in anti-election activities. They were arrested on November 12, 2022.

The arrested individuals are Suraj Malla, 24, a member of the CPN (revolutionary) youth, Bhimdatta Municipality-2 Ooltakham, Dipendra Airi, 24, Bhimdatta Municipality-6 Aithpur, Harish Subedi, 40, a central member of the (CPN Revolutionary), Bhimdatta Municipality-1 Champapur, Bishnu Damai, 50, Bhimdatta Municipality-5 Dharmapur, Province chairperson of the Patriotic People’s Democratic Front, Jaya Bahadur Rokaya, 56,  Bhimdatta Municipality-10 Chatthar and Dil Bahadur B.K ,49, Bhimdatta Municipality-6 Musepani.

D.S.P Chakra Bahadur Shah of the District Police Office said that they were arrested for participating in anti-election activities by hanging posters urging to boycott of the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections to be held on November 20.

According to D.S.P Shah, the arrested individuals have been detained at the District Police Office and an investigation is going on. As the election approaches, anti-election activities are increasing therefore the security arrangements have been strengthened.
