Election Office of Province 1, Biratnagar has said that it has recommended the Election Commission to change eight polling stations in the district.
Provincial Election Officer Lewankashyap Adhikari said that it has been recommended to change eight polling stations in the district targeting the Provincial and House of Representatives elections scheduled for November 20, 2022.
The committee chaired by the Chief District Officer of Morang, Kashiraj Dahal, has recommended the change of eight polling stations in the district on August 21.
There are 300 polling stations and 820 polling booths in the district. According to Provincial Election Officer Lewankashyap Adhikari, eight polling stations which are in narrow and unsafe places have been recommended for change.
It has been recommended to move the polling station in the office of Katahari Rural Municipality-3 to Janapriya Secondary School, the polling station in Lakshmi Basic School of the same Rural Municipality-7 to the ward office of the same ward, Saptakosi Boarding of Biratnagar Metropolitan City-8 to Srishishu Nikunj Basic School. From the health post of Budhiganga Rural Municipality-2, the polling station has been recommended to move to Lilabhakta Basic School, the sub-health post of Ratuwamai Municipality-5 to Lakeshwar Basic School of Dhanpalthan Rural Municipality-2, Amaravati Health Post to Gyanodaya Basic School of Belbari Municipality-8, Ranapal Basic School to Kerabari Rural Municipality-10.
The Election Office has recommended splitting some of the polling stations in the district with more voters.
It has been recommended by the Election Office to divide the polling station from the Janaekta School in Belbari Municipality-1, which has a large number of voters, to the municipal office, Lakshmi Basic of the same municipality and add the polling station to the Lakshmi Consumer Community Forest.
It has been recommended to add polling stations from Ganesh Secondary School to Janata Secondary School in Rangeli Municipality-4, from Janasewa Primary School in Kanepokhari Rural Municipality-6 to Panchjyoti Basic School.
It is recommended to divide the polling station from Janakalyan Secondary School of Kerabari Rural Municipality-4 to Jahdambi Basic School, from Ramveer Basic School of the same municipality-9 to Buddha Secondary School and Tadi Secondary School of Miklajung Rural Municipality-1 and join it to Manohar Secondary School.
