Police have arrested three people on June 14, 2022, from Kathmandu on the charge of gang raping a 24-year-old woman.
Police arrested Ritesh Tamang, 24, of Baudhha in Kathmandu Metropolitan-6, Rinjen Sherpa, 22, of Sindhupalchowk Melamchi Municipality-2 and living in Kathmandu Metropolitan-6, Baudhha, Uttam Lama, 34, of Bagmati municipality- 2 in Sarlahi and living in Kathmandu Metropolitan-6.
According to SP Dinesh Raj Mainali, the victim lodged a complaint at the District Police Range, Kathmandu on June 13 alleging that the victim was taken to Lungta Guest House at Boudha in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-6 and raped on June 12.
Similarly, police have arrested Dhille Sherpa, 34, of Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-4, Sindhupalchowk who had been operating Lungta Guest House in Boudha, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-6. He was arrested for being involved in the incident.
According to SP Mainali, the district court in Kathmandu has extended the time limit by five days and started the investigation.
The health examination of the victim was conducted at the Prasuti Griha, Thapathali on June 13.
