Police arrested Tulsi Ram Bishwakarma, 45, on June 5, on charges of killing his wife, Usha Bishwakarma of Kapilbastu Municipality-6, Semari.
The accused allegedly seriously injured his wife by striking her with a spade during a domestic dispute on June 2. She was taken to UCMS Medical College, Bhairahawa, for treatment, where she died during treatment on June 5.
The deceased’s son, Bhagwati Das, filed a complaint against the accused at the District Police Office, Kapilvastu, on June 7.
The post-mortem examination was conducted at Bhim Hospital, Bhairahawa, on June 5, and the body was handed over to the son.
Police stated that further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
