Two inmates who escaped from the Child Reform Home in Birgunj Metropolitan City–4 on June 19, 2026, have been arrested by police.
According to police, those arrested are a 10-year-old and an 11-year-old, both residents of Malangwa Municipality–3 in Sarlahi District. They had escaped by breaking the ventilation opening of a toilet located on the upper floor of a building on the eastern side of the correction home.
Parsa Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Hari Bahadur Basnet said that the two were apprehended near the Maitri Bridge in the Nepal–India border area. He further informed that the boys had been released from the reform home facility only a month earlier after serving a sentence for stealing a temple bell.
