Police arrested Ward Chairperson, Datta Bahadur Buda, 42, of Patrasi Rural Municipality-5, on May 6 on charges of raping a 28-year-old woman on May 3.
The victim’s family filed a complaint against the accused on May 5 at the District Police Office.
The victim underwent a medical examination on May 5 at Karnali Health Science Institute, Jumla.
