Police arrested Begam BK, 22, of Gurvakot Municipality–2, Surkhet District, from Birta Chowk in Birgunj on May 4, 2026, after he had escaped from the child reform home located in Ward No. 4 of Birgunj Metropolitan City on September 9, 2025.
BK had been serving an eight-year prison sentence and a fine of Rs. 400,000 after being convicted of rape and murder cases. According to DSP Raju Karki of the District Police Office, BK was handed over to the child reform home in Birgunj on May 5.
