Kusumi Pasin, a female Dalit candidate from CPN-UML in Marchwari Rural Municipality-3 died on April 30, 2022. After the death of the candidate, the election office has postponed all the programs related to the election.
Election Officer Saroj Kumar Pokharel said that the entire election program has been postponed after the Election Office issued a notice. He further explained that the news of the death of the candidate was given by Kamalesh Yadav, a candidate for the post of ward chairperson from CPN-UML.
Chief of the District Election Office, Rupendehi, Ayodhya Prasad Bhandari said that the party whose candidate has died will be given the opportunity to register re-candidature and the election will be held on time.
