The Rupandehi District Court has sentenced Shiva Mangal Yadav, 31, of Gaidahawa Rural Municipality–1, Chamkiya, to three months’ imprisonment for sexually abusing a 17-year-old girl.
The bench of Judge Ashok Kumar Basnet, on February 20, found the accused guilty and ordered a sentence of three months in prison, a fine of Rs. 5,000, compensation of Rs. 40,000 to be paid to the victim, and Rs. 200 to be deposited into the victim relief fund, according to Information Officer Padam Aryal of the District Court.
The victim’s side had filed a complaint at the District Police Office, Rupandehi, on November 11, alleging that the accused sexually abused the victim on the same day. Police arrested the accused on November 11.
The victim’s health examination was conducted on the same day at Bhim Hospital, Bhairahawa.
