Sunaina Devi, 44, from Parsa Rural Municipality-4, filed a complaint at the District Police Office, Malangwa, on April 7, accusing Rajeshwar Yadav, 38, and Suman Kumar Mahato, 36, from the same area of allegedly beating her on the pretense of being a “witch.”
The victim stated that on March 23, she was verbally abused and beaten by the accused over the “witch” allegation. She also alleged that members of wards 1 and 4 of Parsa Rural Municipality, along with the accused, tried to settle the matter locally on March 31. The victim received medical treatment at the Provincial Hospital, Malangwa, from March 23 to 25. Inspector Vindeshwar Yadav of the District Police Office, Malangwa, stated that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
