Ward member Nitesh Kumar Sah of Gauriganj Rural Municipality–6 has been arrested by police on March 22 on charges of verbally abusing and mistreating Ward Chairperson Badrinarayan Yadav, 45, of Ward No. 5, and staff working at the same ward office.
Ward Chairperson Yadav stated that during a discussion regarding children who had fled from India, the accused abused and used offensive language against him and the staff, after which a complaint was filed against the accused at the Area Police Office, Gauriganj, on March 22.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Man Bahadur Mishra stated that the accused was arrested for investigation following a complaint that he verbally abused elected representatives and staff under the influence of alcohol.
Police stated that the accused has been kept at the Area Police Office for further investigation.
