Police arrested a 57-year-old grandfather on March 16 on charges of raping his 20-year-old granddaughter on August 19.
According to Inspector Rupesh Shah of the District Police Office, the victim’s family lodged a complaint on March 15. The complaint was filed after the victim was found to be pregnant. The victim, who is seven months pregnant and had difficulty coming to Chautara from her home, has currently been placed at the Rehabilitation Center in Chautara.
The victim’s health examination was conducted on March 15 at Chautara Hospital.
