Police arrested Purnabahadur Das, 50, on March 18 on the charge of killing his wife, Aitarani Das, 32 a resident of Haku, Aathrai Rural Municipality–3.
The victim’s family filed a complaint at the Area Police Office, Aathrai, on March 18, accusing the husband of beating his wife to death under the influence of alcohol on March 17.
Based on the complaint filed by the victim’s family, the accused was arrested for investigation, according to Inspector Kajibahadur Basnet of the District Police Office.
The postmortem of the body was conducted at the District Hospital on March 18. On the same day, the victim’s family received the body and performed the last rites at the Tammar River in Haku, Aathrai Rural Municipality–3.
