Police have arrested Mahesh Udas, 27, of Chandragiri Municipality-8, Matatirtha, Palpa on April 18, 2022, on the charge of raping a 13-year-old girl.
The relatives of the victim had lodged a complaint at the Metropolitan Police Circle, Maharajgunj on April 18 against the accused alleging that he had raped the girl on April 12, 2022. The accused had lured the victim for marriage and had brought her to Kathmandu from Palpa in a Motorbike and raped her at Basundhara of Tokha Municipality-6.
According to Prabina Giri, head of the Kalimati-based Women and Children and Senior Citizens Cell, the district court has arrested the accused on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim’s relatives.
The victim was examined at Prasuti Griha, Thapathali on April 18.
