A Dalit family in Santpur Tole, Fatuwa Bijaypur Municipality–5, filed a complaint with the police, alleging that they were beaten.
The incident occurred on March 3, during the Holi festival, following a minor dispute between the Ram family and the Yadav family. Inspector Surendra Yadav stated that Bholeshwar Yadav, 40, a resident of Fatuwa Bijaypur–5, had beaten Girijaram Ram, 52, Lalan Ram, 24, Naresh Ram, 28, Rajkumar Ram, 20, and daughter Sitakumari Ram, 18, causing head injuries. A complaint was filed against the accused at the Fatuwa Bijaypur Police Station on March 4.
Local resident Birendra Yadav reported that, during the incident, the victims, Girijaram Ram, Sitakumari Ram, Lalan Ram, Naresh Ram, and Rajkumar Ram, suffered injuries to their heads, necks, and bodies. They received treatment at National Hospital, Bijaypur, the same day and later returned home. Their current condition is reportedly normal.
The accused, Bholeshwar Yadav, also sustained a head injury. Both the victim and accused families were summoned for a discussion at the Bijaypur Police Station on March 9; however, neither party attended. Inspector Surendra Yadav stated that legal action will be taken against the accused, and justice will be ensured for the victim’s family.
