A complaint has been filed against Rajkumar Mahtao, 28, of Siddharthanagar Municipality–1, Darkaswa, on February 17, accusing him of repeatedly raping a 23-year-old woman under the pretext of marriage, impregnating her, and most recently raping her again on January 2 and forcing her to undergo an abortion before absconding.
The victim’s side had earlier lodged a complaint against the accused at the District Police Office, Rupandehi, on February 13.
Police stated that further legal action is underway based on the complaint filed by the victim’s side. As the accused is currently absconding, a search operation is in progress. The victim underwent a medical examination at Bhim Hospital, Bhairahawa, on February 17.
