Mina Kumari Shah, 24 of Kaudena Rural Municipality–5, Motipur, has filed a complaint at the District Police Office, Malangwa, on December 21, stating that her husband, Binod Shah, 26, beat her on December 13, demanding additional dowry.
The injured woman received treatment at Sarlahi District Hospital, Malangwa, from December 15 to December 17 due to injuries sustained from the beating.
Although Rs. 100,000 in cash was given at the time of marriage, her father, Ram Binay Shah, 51, stated that she was repeatedly subjected to physical and mental torture for additional dowry.
Following the incident, the accused has been absconding, and a search is underway, according to Police Officer Sagar Chaudhary of the Women’s Cell at the District Police Office, Malangwa.
