Police have arrested an convict in a human trafficking case six years after the incident, on December, 13 2025.
The accused,Lesan Kumari Nepali, 48 also known as Panita Mahata, a resident of Sundarharaicha Municipality–7, was arrested on the same day.
According to DSP Kopila Chudal of the District Police Office, Morang, a team led by Inspector Kabin Rai from the Area Police Office, Rani, arrested the accused from Biratnagar Metropolitan City–14.
A case of human trafficking and transportation had been registered against Nepali at the Area Police Office, Rani, on September, 24 2019. Following the filing of the complaint, the accused had absconded and was arrested by the police after six years.
