Police re-arrested Nipun Gupta,55 (Indian national) from Biratnagar, Morang on 8 December. He was serving a sentence in an abduction and captivity case at the Nakkhu Jail and had escaped during the Gen-Z protest on September 9.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Kavita Kutuwal of the District Police Office stated that Nipun Gupta was arrested based on confidential information while hiding in Biratnagar Metropolitan City-7. Kutuwal said that after completing the necessary legal procedures, Gupta will be sent back to Nakkhu Jail.
