Baglung Adds One Polling Station, Relocates Two

For the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5, 2026, one polling station has been added and two polling stations have been relocated in Baglung district, according to the District Election Office.

According to the office, due to the increasing number of voters, geographical challenges, and the need to improve access for remote settlements, a new polling station has been added and recommendations have been made to the Election Commission for the relocation of polling stations, said Yagya Rijal, Chief of the District Election Office, Baglung.

In Baglung district, it has been recommended to partially shift voters from Ratnalaxmi Secondary School, Righa of Galkot Municipality–11 and add Manewa Basic School as a polling station. Out of the current 2,800 voters in Righa, 1,190 voters have been shifted to Manewa Basic School, where a polling station has now been designated, Rijal said.

One polling station in Baglung Municipality and one in Badigad Rural Municipality have been relocated due to a lack of infrastructure and geographical difficulties. According to the District Election Office, the polling station of Baglung Municipality–8 Sigana and the polling station of Badigad Rural Municipality–10 have been relocated to more suitable locations. The polling centre at the Sigana Ward Office in Baglung Municipality–8 has been moved to Sigana Health Post, as the ward office was too narrow for conducting the polls. Likewise, the polling station previously located at the old ward office of Badigad Rural Municipality–10 has been moved to the new ward office in Ranam, according to Chief Yagya Rijal.

If the newly added polling station is approved, there will be 107 polling stations in the upcoming election. In the previous election, there were 231 polling centres.

Earlier, Baglung district had 189,173 registered voters, and an additional 5,993 voters have now been added.
