The District Court sentenced Mahesh Maji, 38, of Bagmati Municipality-12 to two years imprisonment for raping a 32-year-old woman. The court registrar Gyan Bahadur Khatri stated that the bench of Judge Mahendra Raj Kafle on December 2 found the accused guilty and issued the verdict along with the compensation of Rs 55,000 to the victim.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint at the Malangwa District Police Office on 15 January against the accused, alleging that he had raped the woman on 27 December 2024. The victim underwent a medical examination at Sarlahi District Hospital, Malangwa, on 20 January 2025.
