Death of a Morang Jail Inmate During Treatment

Biratnagar Metropolitan City–8 Hatkhola, District Jail Office, Morang, reported that Harkajung Limbu, 66 of Pathari Shanishchare Municipality–5, who was serving his sentence, passed away on November 27 during treatment.

Jailer Gaurav Dhungel stated that Limbu, who was undergoing treatment at Koshi Hospital, Biratnagar, for body stiffness and chest pain.

Limbu, a chronic patient with body stiffness and chest ailments, had been admitted to Koshi Hospital on September 23, 2025, and had been receiving treatment from time to time. During the course of this treatment, Limbu passed away on November 27, 2025, Jailer Dhungel said.

After being sentenced to 10 years imprisonment by the District Court in a culpable homicide case, Limbu had been serving his sentence at the jail since August 13, 2023.

Limbu’s body has been kept at the morgue of Koshi Hospital.

The jail administration stated that the victim’s family has been informed about the incident and the body will be handed over to them once they arrive.
