Over 1200 New Voters Enlisted in Arghakhanchi

For the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5, 2026, a total of 1,229 individuals have registered their names in the voter list in Arghakhanchi District.

According to Rajkumar KC, Information Officer at the district’s only Election Office located in Sandhikharka, a total of 1,229 men and women aged 16 and above, including 795 men and 434 women, registered their names in the voter list between September 10 and November 11, 2025.

He stated that the voter registration process will continue every day except public holidays, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, until mid week of November, as per the given time frame.

District Election Officer Buddha Prakash Paudel mentioned that although there is only one election office in the district, which makes it geographically difficult for people from some wards and municipalities to reach, the number of daily registrations, around 70 to 90 people, has been much lower than expected, considering the current level of social awareness.

According to Paudel, 511 people have so far submitted applications requesting to transfer their voter registration to this office. He added that the office has adequate manpower, resources, and equipment to carry out the voter registration process, and that the work is being conducted peacefully without any pressure or obstruction from any side.

In the previous election, the total number of registered voters in the district was 168,441. He further stated that, similar to past elections, the level of social and political enthusiasm for voter registration in this election also appears to be low.
